Oskar’s “Blog Abouts Your Peoples Day”

Happy Friday, everybuddy! Well, this is s’posed to be Favoritest Thing Friday and guess what? It is! Cuz I gets to blog about two of my favoritest peoples in the whole wide world thanks to a really Most Brilliant idea thought up by my brand new furend, Oskar!

Now, there really aren’t too many rules to this game. I just have to tell you some stuff abouts them both that you might not know.

Okay, let’s see. They were both born in that Oak-luh-home-ah state. You know the one where the wind comes sweeping down the plain?

Um, but don’t talk to my mom abouts that Oak-luh-home-ah musical cuz she is not so much in luv with it. Go figure. But she does like to sing that Boomer Sooner song that goes with her Most Favoritest football team ever!

Mom's Sooner born and Sooner bred and when she dies she'll be Sooner dead!

But be sure not to ask dad abouts THAT song, cuz he’s not so very much in luv with IT.

Anyways Mom and dad mets when they were first born. What? Oh, mom says that’s not true. She says they met when they were in junior high school – which really wasn’t too long after they were born, right? They met cuz they were both in drama club together.

So this was in a play called "Lizzie Borden." And my dad played my mom's dad. Haha! How crazy is that?

But they didn’t fall in LUVS til they were both in high school. And then they went off to the same college together and that’s where my dad gots a degree in ancient, boring stuff History and mom got her degree in long-windedness English.

Mom and dad in college - doing something college-ey.

They dated for EVER 7 years before they finally decided they liked each other good enough to gets married.

Run! Peoples are throwing stuff at you!

Then they moved from Oak-luh-home-ah to Dallas, Teck-sus and they lived there for another 7 years. Now you’d think that with degrees in History and English, they’d be living in a cardboard box and offering to tells you stuff about history for food. But most luckily, while they were there, dad was able to puts his history degree to good use by becoming something called a computer software tester and mom had normal jobs by day but was a drama queen by night. (Um, dad just said she’s ALWAYS a drama queen. But maybe  you should just keeps that to yourself, ‘kay?)

Oh, the drama!

So while they were in Teck-sus, dad was working on a project called Why-to-Kay? and after that was over, they decided to leaves that Dallas place and moved to Collie-rado. And dad worked on computers some more and mom worked for a non-profit place called “Imagination Celebration” which makes sure that little human pups have lots of opportunities to draw and act and stuff.

Well, she thought that was all sorts of awesome but a coupla years ago, she gots the chance to go off and just writes for a living. So now she’s something called an “advertising copywriter.” Meaning that, um, you guessed it – she writes words to try to gets peoples to buy stuff. I dunno. Sounds a little ho-hum to me but she likes it so I guess that’s all that matters.

Well, that’s about all there is to my pawrents. Now, they may not be the Most Exciting of peoples in the world, but I still think they’re pretty fun to live with!

Yawn. Just another typical night with my pawrents.

Thanks for sharing about your humans, Mayzie. We think they’re most interesting. No wonder you and Brudder Ranger chose them.

  3. It seems to me you made an excellent choice when it comes to humans, Mayzie. Their bios show that they have intelligence and loyalty and the pictures indicate good conformation. Oh, they might be a little wacky at times, but you know what they say, “Behind every blogging dog, there’s a crazy human.” If they don’t say that, they probably should.

I didn’t see this in time to put something together about my humans. Mine are so old (a couple of them are 60 in human years) it would take quite a long time to cover their lifetimes so far. Maybe if someone does it again, I will if I have lots and lots of time.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  4. Hi Mayzie…now we know why you picked out your parents. They are very interesting and funny people. Do they still play dress up a lot? MOL
Madi says if it is ok she would like to come visit you and Cap’n Riley and possibly be your Mom’s understudy for a while and she says your Mom looks like the ultimate Drama Queen and she expects she could learn a lot from her????? Madi that was a very long run on sentence. While you’re in Collie-rado ask Mayzie’s mom to help you with that.
    Hugs Madi and Mom

  8. I think you got one perfect pair of parents, Miss Mayzie! They seem to be able to love you for just who you are, and that’s a special thing to have in the world. I was most impressed to learn more about them! Mom was laughing when you mentioned that Why 2 kay? and said she remembered that big fiasco! Apparently it all happened before I was born and I just didn’t get it, but I’ll humor her!

    Have a great week end.

  18. Wow Mayzie that is so cool to learn about your mom and dad!! It is awesome they met in junior high and are still together (we all went “awww”). It is funny your dad studied history and went into computers – our mom’s cousin did the same thing (his history degree somehow got him qualified to work for a little startup at the time – Microsoft). Our mom is STILL in school (like seriously forever – she will never finish) and her major is Humanities with an emphasis in history, so we think she must want to go into computers too. We love the wedding picture – the caption made us laugh so much! And it sounds like your mom has had a lot of cool jobs. It sounds like you have a very great and interesting family!

  19. Yep your people are pretty cool. That last picture looks super familiar. Like maybe it was taken in my dining room! Maybe I’ll have to post the similar picture of mom and dad! Or the one of Favoritest Aunt Jaime! 🙂

    Wags!

  20. This was so interesting to learn so much about your people. I can’t believe your people knew eachother all the way back in Junior High! Your mom is very talented with helping you write your blog, so I can see how she would be a good copywriter.

  21. Oh gawd, Minna actually thoughts your mom had a tattoo?

  26. How fun, Mayzie!!! Your humans were born just south of where we live now, but our humans hail from Massachusetts. They sure have known each other a long time. And you aren’t too far from us if you are in Colorado, well not a quick trip but just one state away.

We love that your Mom is a drama queen:)

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  27. Your pawrents look super fun! We loved hearing about them. How cool is it that they’ve known each other since jr. high? We love that!:)

    Kisses and hugs
    Lorenza

  29. Fun learning about all the humans. Looks like your parents like to have fun and “play” around. 🙂

  30. Excellent choice in humans, Mayzie! Our parents met in high school, too, and they will be married 35 years in Sept. We’ve seen what wonderful things they do for you and your sibs and we are sure that they are top of the line parents! If your Mom is the one that helped you learn how to blog, then she is a great writer! We didn’t know about this challenge until tonight while doing catchup reading, so did write about ours, but they are pretty good too! LOTS of TREATS!!!

  31. Hi Miss Mayzie,

Oh, we think that Oskar was inspired to come up with this game – we’ve so enjoyed getting to know everyone a little bit better.

We’ve always thought your humans were very special but now you’ve let everyone know just how special they are! And your mom has just about the cutest smile we’ve ever seen, oh gosh, how we’d love to give her a big snuggle in pupson! 🙂

Hey, thanks for your good wishes whilst we had a sore tummy, that is all better now. Poor JD’s poorly paw though is giving us a bit of worry as it doesn’t seem to be getting any better and it’s obviously causing him pain. We’re all looking after him and fussing him to help him feel better – um, so much so that Max started ‘fake limping’ last night. We think he’s feeling a bit left out – awwww!

Schnauzer snuggles – JD and Max.

  32. It was great to learn about your humans Mayzie, they sound like really cool people. :o)

  33. Your Mom and Dad sound like fun! Bet that English thing comes in handy when you need to know how to speel, um spell, something!
Mom won’t let us take her picture – she’s threatening to make us go without dinner if we point the camera at her anymore!
    The Road Dogs

  34. I like how your mom the pirate invaded the ancient Roman senate in that last picture!

  35. Shady

That was a great bloggie, Mayzie, thank you. Your pawrents sound perfect for each other, and you. Ha ha whats funny is when I saw “Write about your peoples day” I thought you were gonna tell us about their actual day, like “They get up around 7am and then they brush their teeth…” Hahaha how silly!

    Shady

  36. Oh Mayzie – your Mom is so, so pretty!! Hsin-Yi says she would love to go and watch her being a “Drama Queen” – hee! Hee! 😛

I loved learning more about your people, Mayzie – and I don’t know why you don’t think they are exciting – I think they are VERY interesting! And Hsin-Yi says she has always heard about “high school sweethearts” – and here is a real life example at last! (Sigh) So romantic!!

    Slobbers,
    Honey the Great Dane

  37. Hi Miss Mayzie! Wasn’t it so cool of Oskar to come up with this game?
Since I don’t often let the 4 leggers type too much on the computer, I have enough trouble myself, we did not make an entry. I have having the best time learning about my fur blogging buddies families.
The dogs here tend to get excited and drool over the keyboard when I ask them to look at something on the screen. If I let them type – oh dear!
So your mom is musical as well as dramatic and your dad is creative as well as learned. They sound like they make a great pair.

Leave Me a Pawment!
