Dear friends, it’s Amber (Mayzie’s mom).
If ever this community needed to pray and show their support for one of its own, it’s now.
We heard from Sandra – the mom of the Houston Pittie Pack – that her house was destroyed by fire last night. She tried desperately to get all the dogs out of the house but they were hiding under beds and in closets. She was only able to save Brinks and Bella. The rest – Guero, Coco Chanel, Tiger, Lucky and Shelby – are all now at the Bridge. Thankfully, all the humans were able to get out of the house safely.
She is obviously in deep, deep pain.
Please – even if you don’t know them – stop by her blog and leave some words of comfort. (The blog post currently up is from a couple of days ago, but please go ahead and leave your support there so she’ll know we’re thinking of her.) I simply cannot imagine what she must be going through right now. My heart is broken for her and for those sweet lost souls that we loved so much.

Oh those poor, poor babies. I can’t IMAGINE what their family is going through. Please let us know how we can help. My heart breaks for them and most assuredly, I am praying for strength for them.
We just came from facebook where we read the news. Our mom is still in tears. How horrible for all of them! We wish we lived closer so we could help them out! We feel so terrible.

I am sobbing as I write this. I can’t even imagine. How tragic, she must be beside herself, I am. We all need to band together and do something for them.

I can’t even think straight. This is utterly devastating. My heart is torn into a million little pieces. I just can’t imagine the horror and pain.
There are really no words. Our thoughts are with them during this unfathomable tragedy.
The Road Dogs
I am so shocked to hear this…they truly have the biggest hearts and have stepped up to help all of their dogs out of dangerous situations. They were also one of our very first friends. Amber…I don’t think I have your email, but could you email us; schwangbach at gmail dot com.

My heart is broken and am praying deeply for Sandra and her family. If there is anything I can do to help her, I’m in Dallas, TX, not that far from Houston, please let me know. I’m at work now, but when I get home, I will be donating to the Chip-In. Please please let me know if there are immediate needs that I can help her with. If she has any vet bills, I can help with that for her by donating to the Veterinarian. I too, have 5 pits and 1 cattle dog, all rescue but one. I cannot even begin to imagine her loss. I will continue to hold her and her family up in prayer. I could make a trip to Houston if needed to help her with anything. My home email is lovesscotland98 AT sbcglobal DOT net.

I read about this at Pip’s blog. I didn’t know the Houston pitties but this tragedy has been with me all day. It is so heartbreaking that I tear up every time I think about it. I’m just amazed at how wonderful all the dog (and cat) bloggers are to show so much support and comfort.
Horrible couple of days. We can’t imagine how horrible we would feel if this happened to us. Our hearts are so with them right now. It’s just too, too sad.
