Our fun visit – part 2

Okay, before I tells you all about the other part of our visit, I wants to say I’m real sorry that I haven’t gotten around and commented on everybuddy’s bloggies lately. You see, our computer Priscilla got an ouchie last week and had to go to the computer V.E.T. And the computer doctors said they wouldn’t be able to even LOOKS at it until tomorrow! So we’ve been having to use dad’s work computer and we can only use it for certain periods of time. So keeps your paws crossed that we gets Priscilla back real soon so we can come around and visit you more regular-like.

Poor Priscilla

Anyways, on to our recounting of our Most Marvelous visit!

So Cuzin Bridger was here for a coupla days and then we heards somebuddy else coming up the steps!

Come on, Cuzin Bridger! Let's go see who it is!

It was my great aunt, Patti, and my great-grandma (who we calls Mema), and Mema’s doggie who is my Aunt Katy Scarlett. Oh, we were very much happy to see them and they were very much happy to see us! Well, okay, maybe Aunt Katy Scarlett was very much less than thrilled.

Fiddle dee dee! I do NOT remember bein' consulted on these plans!

Oh, well. I won't think about that today. I'll think about it tomorrow.

So since Aunt Katy Scarlett was not interested in joining our social circle, we turned our attentions on to Mema and Great-Aunt Patti and they oohed and ahhed over us Most Appropriately.

You're the bestest Mema that ever was!

Then the next day they all gots dressed up to go to a place to watch some birds called Cardinals try to hit a ball. Isn’t that the craziest thing you ever heard of? I guess my Mema’s daddy (which would be my momma’s great granddaddy) played on something called a “farm team” for these birds way back about 6,000 100 years ago and my Mema has luved those birdies all her life.

Go Birdies with Baseball Bats!

(Note from mom: As a matter of principal, I try to avoid spending any money in Denver due to their horrific treatment of pit bull-type dogs through Breed Specific Legislation. However, when your 88 year-old grandmother drives 700 miles from Oklahoma to see you and asks if you can take her to see “her” team play in person – well, how can you say no?)

Anyways, I thought this whole thing sounded Most Uninteresting due to the fact that mom said they don’t even let you chase the balls OR the birdies. So me and Brudder Ranger AND Cuzin Bridger all went to our Most Wonderful daycare place while Aunt Katy Scarlett kept an eye on dad for us.

Well, it seems the birdies gots beat by a bunch of rocks (I dunno…seems like a kinda violent game to me) but they had a good time anyway.

Then the next day, my Auntie K and Cuzin Bridger had to go home and that made me sad. But Mema and my Great-Auntie Patti and Aunt Katy Scarlett all stayed and mom and dad decided to pulls out the Wii game. It’s pronounced like “wee” but it’s kinda confusing cuz there’s no actual “weeing” in it. So I’m not sure what’s the point.

But even though Great-Auntie Patti and Mema had never played this game, they gots the hang of it right away.

I bets she wishes there was actual wee-ing involved.

Take that! And that!

I think it’s kinda boring so I busied myself with some personal grooming. But Aunt Katy Scarlett perked up and tried to lend her paw with a little backseat Wii-ing.

Oh, fiddlesticks! If only I had opposable thumbs, I'd show you how it's done!

Oh, we all had the bestest time visiting with each other and luving on each other and stuff. But then, as you already knows, they had to leave and they haven’t come back YET!  I miss ’em something awful and I really can’t wait for them to come visit me again!

  1. Your company looks like such fun, Mayzie. No wonder you want them to come right back. I’m sure they miss you, too. Maybe that’ll encourage them to head back soon.

My humans are most excited that your Dad once played on a farm team. Baseball is a big thing to them and that farm thing seems to get them all worked up and impressed, too. Farms seem nice based on the few that I’ve seen. Was it a horsie farm, or the kind with cows and chickens and the whole nine yards?

I’ll be keeping my paws crossed that Priscilla will make a speedy and complete recovery.

    lotsa licks, Lola

Probably good you missed that birdie game….sounds like a total bust. But we’re glad you were polite and let your guests do what they wanted to do.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

That WII makes the humans act funny, but it looks like a great work out for them.

  4. Mayzie, we’re with your mom on the whole Denver thing! I try to avoid traveling there for business for that same reason.

I love that your 88 year old grandmother was playing WII! Now there’s a fun gal!

  5. We also think it is terrific and great fun that the 88 year old granny was playing WII. That is wonderful. Mayzie, all your guests look like fun and the woofies too. Bet it was boring when they left. Glad you had such a good time.

  6. Mayzie, Mayzie your family is full of beautiful women!!! What fun you all had too.
Mom and I loved seeing Great Aunt and Great Mema playing Wii. Mom loves their spunk!!! What great pictures. Katy Scarlett was probably overwhelmed by all the pooch love in your house.

    Good luck getting Priscilla fixed.
    Hugs Madi

  7. My Dad smiled and smiled at the picture of the ladies in the Cardinals shirts. That is HIS team, and he loves them lots. He said the picture warms his heart. My Aunt Marie goes to games with him when we are in St. Loulis. She is his date for the night. Muzzer stays home with us, as well she should. We all have a good time.

    Kisses to all

  11. My two-leggers like that wee stuff too but I’m with you… zzz….

I gots a big laugh about your comment that birdies getting beat by a bunch of rocks sounds like a violent game. It sure does!!!

I hope they come back to visit you soon, Mayzie. How could they stand being away from you for long??

  19. Hi Miss Mayzie – oh, thank you so much for your well wishes, it has made us feel so much better and it really bucked poor JD up no end! 🙂

Being able to catch up with our pals blogs again has really helped us feel better too. Wow, you had such great visitors, we LOVED all the photos! 😀 Brother Ranger is very photogenic – the ‘you may scritch the Rat Terrier’ had us really giggling, wonderful, wonderful! And we loved seeing you all patrol the parimeter – he he he! Max especially liked this, being in charge of the security detail over here and all!

We don’t understand this ‘Wii’ stuff either. Like you we got all excitied thinking we were going to be allowed to wee in the house, but no! Sigh – humans are very complex sometimes….

Schnauzer snuggles – JD and Max.

  20. Wow it sounds like it was a great visit Mayzie! And we are with you that the wii thing is weird – we think our mom is going to throw the toy for us but she never does – weird! And it is too bad those bird guys didn’t win – our mom tried to explain the thing to us but we are like you – if we can’t chase the birds or the balls, what is the point (but tell your mom that our mom totally understands about the whole “when your 88 year old grandma wants to go you go” thing!) It sounds like you all had a fun time though – it is great that you got to have so many fun people around!!

  21. BOL…I love seeing them play the Wii. Hope your computer feels better soon.

  22. I’m glad to see Gussie got to see the KhardinalGals!

Those WFT’s are so into their RedBirds – as are Jake and Just Harry too!

    Paws khrossed fur Priscilla!

    Hugz&Khysses,
    Khyra

  23. More visitors!! Gosh, you’re having a busy house, Mayzie!

My humans played that Wii game at a friend’s house once – it was very funny! It makes humans forget themselves and do the funniest things!

Sorry to hear about Priscilla – hope she gets fixed soon! No wonder – I was wondering why I hadn’t seen you around for a while!

    Slobbers,
    Honey the Great Dane

  24. Aunt Katy did not look happy at all

  25. We have all been away for a bit, but we have read about your fun adventures, such fun. We agree, Aunt Katy Scarlett doesn’t look too happy but it was nice to see her get in on the fun of the Wee thingie.

Woos – Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  26. Wow – you must have a big house to fit in all those guests! Katy Scarlet looks like a bit of a party pooper, though (well, I hope not literally…). ANyhoo, we have one of those Wii’s too, but I won’t let mom play it. When she swigs that little white box around it makes me crazy! Glad to see you have better manners than I do!

    Snorts-
    Brutus the Frenchie

  27. Looks like everyone had a pawesome time there!
    Wiiiii!
I hope you get Priscilla back soon!
    Kisses and hugs

  28. Just finished reading your most wonderful 2 part report on the fun visitors. It looked like everybody had a very nice time. The baseball game was probaby super fun. I wonder if the birds were tweeting during the game!!! It was nice to see the folks playing WII, they must have really enjoyed it.

We always enjoy when people come to visit us here too. We are woefully neglected most of the time as you are prolly aware so extra attention is always appreciated. Thanks for sharing! …. We will arrive next week…… Toby, Ginger, Jeter and Halle the Glamour Divaxoxoxo

  29. Glad to hear you had a fun family weekend 🙂
I hope your computer feels better soon. sometimes they can be so silly!

    Love, Bella.

  30. Looks like quite the fun puppy pawty!

    Love,
    Teddy Bear

  31. Oh I’m glad you had so much fun with your guests. I would be exhausted!

    woof – Tucker

  32. This looks like a real family doggy get together.

We erm older adults quite like a game on the old Wii.

    Great fun!

    Hector, Bonny and Wellington

  33. It is always so wonderful when you have lots of relatives that bring their doggies, too! That’s the way it is at Mimi’s house on the weekends. There are usually almost as many dogs as there are people’s!

I gather, though that it is a long time between your people all getting together and so it is a really BIG good time when they do! We are so happy for you all, and thanks for letting us get to know them too!
