Our fun visit – part 1

Hello, hello, everbuddy! How did your weekend go? I hope it was super duper terrific!

Now as you know, last week we had some peoples and doggies come visit us. The first to gets here was my auntie and my Cuzin Bridger. We all luvs my auntie, and Brudder Ranger did what he could to make her feel welcome right away.

Welcome to my house. Please feel free to skritch the rat terrier.

Well, I had kinda sorta forgotten how BIG Cuzin Bridger is and so I was a teensy bit nervous around him at first and asked him to please give me some space while I gots re-used to his hugeness! But it didn’t take me too long and pretty soon, we were double teaming our pawrents for extra noms:

Stick with me, Mayzie. I've been practicing my adorable look for 9 years.

Gosh! Look at how big his mouth is! I bets he could fit a million noms in there!

Once Brudder Ranger saw how Most Successful our technique was, he lent us his support, too.

Resistance is futile!

We showed Cuzin Bridger all around the backyard.

Follow me!

Mom says these are "wildflowers." I think she just says that cuz they don't wanna mow up here.

And we patrolled the perimeter together. Can you see me?

We're like a reverse Oreo cookie!

And we introduced him to our next door neighbor dog, Hope. (That’s the one we used to call N.D.)

Whassup? Holy tennis balls! That dog is HUGE!

It really didn’t go all that well, though, cuz Brudder Ranger started yelling at Hope to quit being such a puppy and Hope started yelling at Cuzin Bridger to quit being so big, and that made me real nervous so about that time, the humans decided it was prolly best if we all just went inside.

I didn't know that Brudder Ranger and Hope knew all those HBO words!

Once we gots inside, Cuzin Bridger showed us his dramatic interpretation of “Big Dog Might Expire From the Heat.” It was Most Moving.

Oh, whoa is me! Whoa! WHOA, I tell you!

Brudder Ranger decided maybe the hard floor wasn’t the most comfy place in the whole house and directed him to more upscale real estate.

Thanks, cuz. Nice place you got here!

Well, I thought all this was just the best and that it couldn’t get any betters. But guess what? I was wrong!

To be continued…

Mayzie and Brudder Ranger are pawsome hosts. First Flat Brutus and now Cuzin Bridger. Did he get some extra food after he nearly expired? First Class performance.

    Miss Mayzie,

Your visitor looks like one of those spinone dogs or maybe an otterhound. Huh?

I got my antlers at dog skool and they were totally wicked expensive because they are HOOGE. You can order them online at http://www.antlerpantry.com

They cost even more there than at dog skool, but since they last a long time and you could get littler ones than me maybe your mom will spring for a couple.

  3. It must be so much fun to have doggy company! Even BIG doggy company. REALLY BIG doggy company… Hey – cuzin Bridger takes up a lot of room on the bed. It was very nice of you to invite him up!

  4. I’m loving this and can’t wait til the next installment. I gotta say it’s really sweet of you to account for your time away from us, too. I guess you know how big a part of everydog’s day you’ve become, Mayzie.

I also want to thank you and Ranger very much for your encouragement regarding the new addition to our family. Please thank Ranger very much for me? I have every reason to believe this will work out well, but I think my furiends’ support is going to be much needed while we’re getting sorted out.

  5. Mayzie,
Cuzin Bridger looks as big as my furiend and neighbor Jack! It’s nice to have someone that big on your side. 🙂 Can’t wait to find out how the rest of the visit went.

  7. Mayzie….to say you have a WAY with words would be an understatement. Oh my word the Mom is sitting here giggling like a little girl. Lets see reversed Oreo is a hoot. Ranger and Hope’s conversation too funny. I forgot is Bridger a wolffie hound? Whatever he is 100% handsome.
