My friend Max

“A good dog never dies. He always stays. He walks besides you on crisp
autumn days when frost is on the fields and winter’s drawing near.
His head is within our hand in his old way.”

  1. Mayzie what a beautiful tribute to the most amazing dog we’ve ever ‘known’.
Mom and I just met him a few months ago…we have been absolutely amazed by him Mom’s strength and her lovely posts.
Run free sweet Max there are many, many lovely pets to play with over the bridge.

  2. That’s beautiful and Blog Mom says it’s a true saying, too. Her labradawg Misty, who crossed the bridge about 30 years ago – human years, no less – is still with her today, for instance.

    Very sweet tribute.

  4. Thank you for a beautiful tribute! What you may not know is that particular log was one of Maxdog’s all time favourites! That spot is where I did a lot of his training…where he really learned to trust me. What fond memories! Thank you for your unfailing love and support.

  5. I’m sure that Shelby and Roo were waiting for Max on the the other side and have already shown him all the good spots to romp, play, sleep in the sun, find treats , find toys and of course get lots and lots of pets!

  7. Oh, that was just a most splendid saying Miss Mayzie. It just breaks our hearts knowing what his mom is going through.
And da craziest thing is that he was a very well trained doggie…all notions of training is crazy to me.
That was a beautiful tribute to such a well loved friend.

That was a very beautiful and sweet tribute to Max. It’s amazing how many people and pups Max ad his mom have touched all over the world. He will be missed by many…the number is unfathomable.

  19. We are saddened by Max crossing the Rainbow Bridge, but there is joy in our heart he isn’t suffering anymore and he can run free without pain.

Until we see you at the Rainbow’s edge our dear sweet Max.

    Love,
    Stella, Gunther and Betty

  20. Maxdog was larger than life and loved immensely by hundreds of people throughout this world of ours. It’s so difficult when a ♥dog has to leave…

  21. This is a really sweet tribute to dear Max. I shed a lot of tears for him yesterday, then lit a candle and hugged my dogs a little closer and a little tighter. I’ve enjoyed reading all the tributes to sweet Max today but they’ve all made me sad all over again. He’s definitely gonna be missed!

  22. My mom’s eyes are leaking but your words are so true…

    Wags,

  24. Another beautiful tribute… It’s so wonderful to see how much love is being shown all around the Bloggy World for Max and his Mom. They touched so many lives and helped us all…

  26. That’s a beautiful tribute for a special dog!

    Bunny

  27. We were so sad. Even though we just knew him through blogs, it’s like we know our blog dog friends more than even our dog neighbors.

  28. Mayzie – I am so sorry that I fell so far behind on your blog. Will you ever forgive me? Things have been so busy here lately and I am just getting back in to the swing of blogging.

We, too, felt so bad when we heard about Max. This is yet another great tribute to him. It brings out a lot of emotions.. sadness over the loss, celebration over his life, and whole lot of appreciation for my current pets. Max and his mom lived life to the fullest – I am sure they have no regrets. ❤

  29. Hmm, I’m going to guess Boxer!
